After drilling a dry bore based on a dowser´s stake, we were asked to survey in an area of generally deep water in unfavorable geology.

After mud drilling through our zone and saying there was no water, we insisted on proper work out resulting in a double-digit well. That´s why we recommend rotary with top drive to case as you drill until reaching our target depth!

CHALLENGE
Well next door drilled to 650 feet producing very low quality, sulfur-smelling water. Client´s old well was low volume and quality. PWT operator had less than half an acre to survey.

Driller resisted going deep based on results just across the fence. Struck first water from St. Pete sandstone at 500 feet as predicted. Stopped at 550 feet - one hundred feet less than the neighbour - showing a high volume of potable water!

In an area of steep gorges where driller find it difficult to get water in volume, Gamma and passive seismic correlated over a deep and rising potential water-bearing fissure.

After drilling just 150 feet they struck a fracture that released water at c. 60 psi producing a free flowing well. Quote the driller: "I never have seen anything like this before!".

Driller struck water at first stake on the third day of ground surveys, producing project water. Developer reverted to community well plan rather than 23 residential wells, saving $$$$ on drilling costs.
